Killing on the Radio

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. today, I'll be discussing Israel's recent euthanasia law with Howie Barte on WHJJ, 920 on the AM radio dial.

Two years ago you made some effort to if not defend Rumsfeld and Rice, then to at least disarm their critics, when you discussed the Werewolves situation in post-war Germany (2003/11/12).

Although the RAND study found no deaths in post-war Germany of US military personnel, a 1953 military report said 45 had died.

At the time I noted Saddam was one of only 100 dictators on Earth, and that the death toll (the inhumanity, if you will) of his regime was not tops, that the bloodshed in the Congo (for example) was 100 times more intense over the last thirty years than in Iraq.

You responded that I didn't say anything which _could_ be addressed.

Bah and Fie.

Anyway, the Kyrgyz situation was a palace coup. The new President had been hand picked by the former President to be Prime Minister in 2000.

The Ukraine situation is unravelling more than it is becoming any sort of stable democracy. Yuschenko having taken over (centrally) many police powers, for example (i.e. more of a police state than the former regime).

The situation in Lebanon? Well, perhaps you should read the Angry Arab (a Lebanese author) to see what a sick joke the "transformation" has been there. Lahoud is still President. The moderately pro-Syrian Hariri (and crooked as sin) is held out as a martyr stick with which to beat the Syrians (dead tools are far more convenient, don't you think, can you name any living Lebanese politicians we can back? The leader of the Christian faction, recall, is in the pro-Syrian alliance)).

Don't you have anything better to do than spam the Comments section?
