John Kerry Chris Muir Starts a Meme

Now, if Chris Muir's Day by Day cartoon were as widely read and influential as it ought to be, today's strip might be apt to start a pop culture meme.

(Of course, it would also help if more people actually followed politics as closely as bloggers do.)

It's only really funny if you cruise around on a plastic boat for a few weeks in a stinking jungle full of bugs never really sleeping and crazy animal sounds while people are trying to kill you and then maybe get a little hazy on the details. Then maybe it's really funny.

Then again maybe it's not.

It's not clear how what Jeff describes entitles one to make up stories about where one was during the war. Thousands of people went through those conditions, and most of them a) didn't leave after 4 months, and b) don't go around telling people they were in places they weren't or doing things they weren't.
